Soul of Light: Works of Illumination is a collection of over 100 works of vibrant, full-color visionary art that transmits an inner spiritual feeling and message, influenced by sacred geometry and a multitude of esoteric and spiritual traditions. Portuguese artist Joma Sipe’s focus in each of his paintings is light – not the ordinary light of day, but the light of spiritual illumination. For each piece, Sipe begins with thin silver or gold ink pen on a blank canvas. He then energizes certain points in the drawing with crystals. Finally, he adds light and soft-color computer effects to achieve an ethereal quality Since childhood, Sipe has been influenced by painters of the late nineteenth-century Symbolist Movement. He feels profoundly connected with early Theosophist H. P. Blavatsky and has also studied Rudolf Steiner, Eliphas Levy, G. I. Gurdieff, the contemporary Gnostics, and the spirituality of Hindu teacher Paramahansa Yogananda and Eckart Tolle, who in turn led him to A Course in Miracles. His knowledge of occult anatomy and the chakras, meditation, alchemy and the Kabbalah contributes to the wealth of esoteric wisdom he brings to bear in his art. All helps him reflect on canvas his powerful sense of the sacred that seems to illuminate the very being of the viewer as well as of the artist and his visionary world.
Drawing on mystic traditions as diverse as Hinduism, ancient Kabbalah, Theosophy, Gnosticism, Buddhism, Eckart Tolle, and The Course in Miracles, Sipe has created 100 drawings, using computer enhanced gold, silver, and crystal. Beautiful and inspiring, these drawings bring esoteric wisdom to life. They draw the reader in and chart a course from darkness to spiritual light, as the inner illumination of the sacred wisdom of the ages flows out of this visionary artwork. Intended as tools for meditation, they are equally intriguing as beautiful, mysterious visual images. This book is truly an uplifting visual treat. Consider displaying the book with stand-alone crystals, devotional sculpture, or other beautiful objects, and let your customers discover it for themselves.

Mme. Blavatsky wrote, “Behold in every manifestation of genius, when combined with virtue, the undeniable presence of the celestial exile, the divine ego whose jailor thou art, O man of matter.”
To those gifted with the eyes to see, the universe and its myriad forms are but living light taking shape to the music of the cosmos. In Soul of Light, Joma Sipe unites his illumination-art with original and borrowed poetry, esoteric teachings, and discussions of his creative process to chart the journey of the soul from darkness to light, from the unreal to the Real. These beautiful works of sacred geometry, like Brancusi’s Bird in Space, are meant as vehicles of meditation. As like calls to like, the light of the soul shines forth.

"Joma Sipe gives visual form to the energetic patterns contained in a vast array of spiritual texts and traditions. He generously shares his process of creating these remarkable images that seem channeled through his inner being, enabling the viewer to intuit how each spiritual path is both unique and at its root connected to one infinite Source. This important book instructs us in a way that transcends dogma and touches the universal spark within us all."
