We live in an outer world that is governed by the laws of nature. There is also an inner world with its own inherent order. It is governed by inner laws that are just as unbreakable as the outer laws with which we are familiar, such as the law of gravity. Theosophy teaches that each one of us has an inner Self. The consciousness of that inner Self is qualitatively different from our everyday consciousness. The outer self, or personality, is an extension of that inner Self. Although our attention normally centers on the outer world with its many activities, attractions, and repulsions, we can learn to refocus our attention and experience that inner sense of order for ourselves. 2001. 48 minutes.
