Kirsten Helgeland, Ph.D., holds degrees in piano performance from the Eastman School of Music as well as the College-Conservatory of Music of the University of Cinicinnati. She received her doctorate in musicology from the University of Cincinnati.
Currently, Ms. Kelgeland is a faculty member at Gordon College (Wenham, MA), where she lectures on music history, teaches piano, coaches vocalists and instrumentalists, and accompanies both the Gordon College Children’s Choir and the Symphonic Chorale. In addition to her work at Gordon, she accompanies the Newburyport Choral Society and serves as Music Director and Organist at St. Peters Episcopal Church (Beverly, MA). She performs piano recitals on a regular basis, and has appeared as a guest artist on WGBH-Radio’s “Chamberworks.”
