James S. Perkins (1899-1991) was a commercial artist by profession, but much of his life was given over to the study and dissemination of the theosophical philosophy. His theosophical career spanned six decades, during which he served as National President of the Theosophical Society in America from 1945-1960. Following his tenure as President of the American Section, he was called to Adyar to assume the office of International Vice-President of the TS under then President N. Sri Ram. Mr. Perkins traveled extensively and was a popular speaker whose talks brought inspiration and wisdom to many. His books include Through Death to Rebirth and Experiencing Reincarnation. His last published work was Visual Meditations on the Universe published by the Theosophical Publishing House.
